The NAC and all the individuals working there are awesome! I am the founder of Operation Pay It Forward and we have had our annual veteran amassador retreat here for the past 2 years and we are looking forward to coming again next year.

My experience at the NAC in Utah was truly unforgettable. I attended a breast cancer retreat there this past June 2026, and I can honestly say that every single person I encountered was incredible. The kindness, compassion, and genuine care shown by the entire team made such an impact. Josh, Jane, Cas, and Gus were absolutely amazing! Their dedication, energy, and support created an environment that felt welcoming, safe, and uplifting from the moment I arrived. I also want to recognize all of the support staff working behind the scenes - your efforts did not go unnoticed and were such an important part of making the retreat so special as well. The NAC helped provide a space where healing, connection, and encouragement could happen in a truly meaningful way. I would not hesitate for a moment to return, and I genuinely hope to make it a point to do so in the future. Thank you to everyone who made this experience so memorable. It was a gift I will carry with me. (Josh HAPPILY ran up and down a steep cliff-face several times...all just to help me while I was fishing, which was my biggest "challenge by choice" success during the retreat.)

Visited here with a group of Veterans from the VA to work with the equestrian department. We had a great time! Amy and Molly were the equestrian staff we worked with and they were so patient. They answered all of my questions about horses and their care. The facility here is so nice and clean. They have tons of programming and what a great cause.

We LOVE the NAC! They are the best adaptive recreation program in the nation! Iβll remember this rafting trip forever. They even had gluten free lunch that I could eat and a cold place to put insulin!

If you are a veteran with adaptive needs looking to get back out into nature, the National Ability Center (NAC) in Park City is a flat-out game changer. Their adaptive mountain biking program doesn't just offer a sports activity; it provides a profound sense of freedom, community, and adrenaline that many of us miss after transitioning out of the service. The fleet of equipment is incredibleβranging from advanced handcycles and recumbents to specialized three- and four-wheel adaptive mountain bikesβbut itβs the staff and volunteers who make the experience world-class. They are friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The staff took the the time to dial in the perfect equipment fit and met every rider exactly where they are, whether you are a seasoned cyclist returning to the dirt or hitting the trails for the very first time. Riding the purpose-built, adaptive-friendly trails right from their back door provides a massive sense of freedom and camaraderie. For veterans looking to get back into the hills, challenge themselves and find a welcoming community that genuinely understands adaptive needs, the NAC mountain biking program is unmatched. Five stars all day.

The NAC is hands-down the most fantastic place I have ever had the pleasure of working with! My children and I have participated in multiple activities over the past three years and every single one has been superb! I truly do not have adequate words to express how much they have done for us. It is the only place where my children have shown improvement. The level of care and attention to detail is phenomenal and everything is adapted to each of us individually as well as continual adaptations as needed during the activities themselves. Every single person we have worked with, from the administrative staff, to the reservations staff, to the counselors and team of instructors and guides we have worked (played) with deserve the highest of praises. They are all simply amazing! And everyone there is always happy and helpful. We have felt truly loved and cared for during each activity with them, and even in the registration process. We have formed lasting relationships and are actually remembered when we have come back! The instructors have made it a point to come say "hi" and see how we are even when we are there but not scheduled with them. (I am hopeful we are remembered for good rea

Last week I had a phenomenal opportunity to do a week-long cohort through Heroes Haven, hosted by the National Ability Center. I do not have the words to explain accurately how wonderful this program is. It was a full mind, body and spiritial reset that included meditation, yoga, adaptive sports, mental health education, and camaraderie. It was a fire hose of information and experiences to take into daily life and elaborate on, based on your preferences and the work you need to do individually. The Heroes Haven program itself is peer led, which was awesome. Each of the Shepards, as they are lovingly called, have been through the program themselves. They had some amazing guest speakers that had fantastic viewpoints on different ways to perceive and process through trauma. The women that participated in the cohort with me were some of the most resilient and encouraging women that I have had the honor of working with in a small group like this. The National Ability Center was so supportive and fantastic with adapting to my disabilities. With their help I was able to participate in a 40 ft high obstacle course (which was super intimidating), an assisted rock wall climb, one handed arch

My 4-year-old son, Maverick, had his first ski lesson with Nic, and the experience exceeded all expectations. Nic was patient, encouraging, and truly made learning fun. Maverick left feeling confident and excited, which meant everything to us. Weβre so grateful for such a positive introduction, there truly are no limits for him! Thank you again!
